Scat Records release info:
Guided By Voices Propeller LP / CD / CS (TBD, virus delay) Tip-on LP jacket features new art from one of the original LPs, in either black vinyl or white with blue swirl (Scat exclusive, limit 1 per customer). The CD has been out of print for a year, so there's a new version of that in digipak format, and Propeller gets its first tape release. Mastering remains unchanged from previous editions. Retail shops in the US and Europe will also have two additional colors, purple and an opaque light blue. I'm not sure which is going where yet. We may, or may not, have small quantities of each at release time.
Original release date was set to be February 19, 2021 but later changed to 3/19/2021.
Feb 10th, 2021 update email from Scat Records:
As you may have heard through the grapevine, the Propeller reissue has been delayed due to a large virus outbreak at the pressing plant we use. Our distributor has also had to shut down for a week on two occasions since the new year. Despite the obstacles, we have confirmed a new release date for March 19, and we should be able to begin shipping pre-orders about a week before then. You will receive a shipping notification with tracking information when your order is shipped.
January 14th, 2021 update on Scat Records website: 14 January 2021 - Propeller delay
There has been a virus outbreak at the pressing plant we use. They are extremely short handed right now, and it is certain that the Propeller release date will need to be pushed back. On top of that, our distributor has had a minor scare and has closed up today for the next week, perhaps longer if testing reveals positive cases.
To be clear, Propeller vinyl has not �sold out.� There will be plenty (~3000) of copies at retail. It�s just that we cannot sell any more directly. We�ve had nearly 1000 orders and there are only two of us to pack them all up. If it weren�t a pandemic, I could bring in some extra help, but alas. So it seemed best to cut off sales rather than risk shipping delays. Once our distributor is back to work and a new date is set, you will begin to see retail stores offer pre-orders. You�re not seeing that yet because our distributor hasn�t announced the release to their accounts yet. We will of course post the new date here as soon as things become more certain. |
